WHAT IS TATTERSAIL MATERIAL PATTERN?

Tattersall is a consistently spaced check or plaid pattern, smaller sized than windowpane. It’s normally made up of 1 or 2 darker colors on a white or lighter history. Thin, even, upright stripes, straight or distorted, are duplicated flat in the weft, thus developing squares. Tattersall check is smaller sized than windowpane and was called for a Tattersalls Steed Market where horse coverings with this layout were used. Country informal.
